The Wall

Garcia and Junior, along with many other cops from different counties go down to the border to build a wall to stop illegals from getting through called “Good fences make good neighbors” program. Starting off, Garcia comes into the morning briefing meeting wearing a shirt that says “SPEAK ENGLISH” and him and Junior explain to the other sheriffs how they’re going to do this. Jones doesn’t agree with their plan and says it’s wrong, Trudy mocks Jones and Martin Luther King Jr. saying “I have a dream, I gots a dream…we know.” At the boarder, all the sheriffs put up a flag and they forget some of the words to the Pledge of Allegiance. The men are all complaining how it’s too hot, Junior says “It never was this hot until damn Al Gore.”  Dangle is riding his bike around and stops at a stand with a young oriental girl selling lemonade, doesn’t have enough money and asks the girl for a freebie she repeatedly says no, Jim keeps asking and the girl gets mad, squirts him in the eye with a lemon and throws his bike into the street, causing a truck to run it over. Trudy goes undercover as a “young schoolgirl” as a sting to catch men groping young girls on the public bus. Let’s just say, it doesn’t work out, she ends up annoying people instead.  At the end, the sheriffs building the wall realize they did it on the wrong side. Gotta love this show.

Coconut Nut Clusters

This episodes plot is mainly about the Sheriff’s Department going door to door and selling “Coconut Nut Clusters” for the athletic league, and along the way Kimball and Jones run into complications like.. this one guy invites them into his house, agrees to buy the candy, writes a note to his wife and then walks into the kitchen and shoots himself. Kimball and Jones get mad because he didn’t sign the check before he killed himself. Then they go to another house and they give a young boy the candy bar and his mom walks in yelling because he’s diabetic, and the boy ends up having a seizure. Moving along to the next house…there’s an old lady and while Jones is in the middle of talking, she just dies. Next they’re outside just looking flabbergasted and scared and a guy on crutches with one leg asks what they’re selling and crosses the street to buy some candy when a truck comes and crushes him, Jones and Kimball start crying and yelling and then Jones gets hit by the same truck. The other Sheriff’s are much more successful than them, but they’re always eating the candy without paying for it. In the words of Junior, “easy, peasy, japanesey”. This episode isn’t all that great, but it’s still funny.

5th Season- Episode #1

I’ve had the complete fifth season of Reno 911 on DVD for a couple months, but I finally just watched episode 1. So let me tell you about it…
So this episode starts off with Deputy Jim Dangle “jumping” a shark for Autism. And basically all this episode is about is officer Trudy wanting to sell her baby. She interviews a bunch of couples, but she has some problems with it because she doesn’t like how many people of different races there are who want to buy her baby. Trudy first interviews people who want to raise the baby to be in the circus..and she doesn’t like that and flat out calls them freaks to their face. The second couple are Oriental and she doesn’t want them raising her baby because she feels it’s just night right and explains why, mentioning black people in a racist way and comparing them to the couple. She says she doesn’t want the baby being raised in that way because of the Chinese New Year. Meanwhile, all the guys of the Sheriff’s department are trying to figure out who Trudy’s babys’ daddy is because she went to a sperm bank where all of the guys have donated at. Junior believes it’s his baby..saying, “All Trudy’s baby does is stagger around like a retard and look at boobs. So yeah, it could be mine.” Hahaa, another thing is Trudy advertises her baby so more people would become interested in adopting him, she makes a commercial where she talks about the baby to everyone, but in the background there’s her baby boy and he’s on the grass, locked in a open cage as if he’s a dog (mean, i know) and she’s throwing cereal at him. She says, “This baby is white, full of love, joy, and wonder and can be yours with just one phone call.” So yadddayadayada, she interviews more people and finally finds a couple from Lake Tahoe and sells the baby to them for $10,000. Oh, and Clemmie and Kimball are on duty when a guy who just robbed a liquor store asks them to get out of the car because he’s with the FBI and he shows them a fake badge, saying he’s trying to catch the guy who robbed a liquor store and he gives them this whole “hypothetically, what if there was a guy..” But they know he’s full of it, and know he’s the one who robbed the store, so they tell him he can ride in the back while they bring him to the police station and he replies saying..”Okay, but we need to get as close to the state line as possible.” because the “robber” claims to be from Kenya.

these people are crazy

Main Characters:

Lieutenant Jim Dangle – played by Thomas Lennon.

Alright so Dangle pretty much runs the show, he’s in charge of all the other officers in the Reno Sheriff Department. He’s an openly gay character on the show and you can always find him wearing his trademark shorts as part of his uniform for work. His reasoning for the “short shorts” is that he “has to be able to move fast like a cheetah on the streets”, as he’s said. He’s a really funny guy and probably my favorite character overall.

Deputy Trudy Wiegel – played by Kerri Kenny-Silver

Hmm, what to say about Trudy. First off, she’s probably the most insane one on the show. She is beyond funny. She has an extreme love for cats and is pretty much obsessed with Lieutenant Jim Dangle. She’s emotionally unstable and has night terrors. She says the most random things ever all the time. Trudy is the weirdest one of all, but I think without her, the show wouldn’t be quite as funny.

Deputy S. Jones- played by Cedric Yarbrough

I don’t think there’s even a word to describe him. Well… let’s just say he’s a ladies man. Dangle referred to him as a “big, hardworking, robust, sort of mocha-ish person.”

Deputy James Garcia – played by Carlos Alazraqui

This guy makes me laugh for hours, no joke. He usually always uses his nightstick to beat suspects. He’s an angry Mexican-American and is also known to be racist and sexist. Garcia even arrests his own friend Lt. Jim Dangle and his boyfriend when they’re getting married telling them that gay marriage is illegal in Nevada.  He’s so weird, in that strangely awesome kind of way.

Deputy Clementine Johnson – played by Wendi McLendon-Covey

Yeah, so Clemmie is legitly the queen of blonde moments. She’s funny, her mom is a prostitute..guess that is part of the reason for Clementine’s promiscuous behavior most of the time, cause it’s in the family. She’s totally cool. Oh, and she wants Marijuana to be legalized. Talk about crazy for a cop.

Deputy Raineesha Williams – played by Niecy Nash

Probably the funniest African American woman character I’ve ever seen. She’s so obnoxious, but that’s what makes her hilarious. She yells all the time. She has three kids, all having different dads. Her and Deputy Jones often hook up.

Deputy Travis Junior – Robert Ben Garant

Hahaha, sooo.. he wears his bullet proof vest OVER his shirt and is always wearing aviator sunglasses. He’s the cousin of Deputy Kimball. He loves beer and of course, his moustache. He’s nice like fried rice maaan.

Deputy Cherisha Kimaball – played by Mary Birdsong

I don’t really have much to say about her. She has times when she’s really funny, but I don’t really care for her much. She doesn’t seem to have much of a personality. Anyways, all her co-workers believe she’s a lesbian, but she always denies it. Even her cousin Deputy Junior thinks she is one too so he pretends to get shot and while Kimball thinks he’s dying, she finally reveals to Junior that she has fantasies about women all the time. Junior planned it all, just so he could get the truth out of her.

Introduction

Ayeeeeee, welcome to my blog. I wish there was something less cliche to say, but I can’t really think of much. I’m new to this whole blog thing. Anyways, here I will be discussing episodes of the Comedy Central show Reno 911 every week. If you’ve never seen the show, here’s what it’s mainly about.. it’s a satire based on the FOX show Cops and in it the sheriffs are constantly doing and saying stupid things, cursing, dealing with some pretty weird people, making mistakes, and all in all, they have no idea what they’re doing; which of course makes it funny (well, I don’t know about you, but for me it does). Every week, I’ll post a different topic about the show. For example, one week I’ll talk about the actors on the show, the next I’ll just summarize what happened in a certain episode, what I liked about it, what I didn’t, and I’ll also talk about the shows related to this one.
